Nozzle Meter Test Rig Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : SCL-CELE-14002
This equipment is a self-contained water recirculating
unit designed for the experimental study and calibration of a Nozzle
Meter. This flow meter measures discharge by creating a pressure drop as
fluid accelerates through a smooth restriction (the nozzle).
1. Key Components and Design
The apparatus features the nozzle meter in a transparent
section for easy viewing.
- Nozzle
Meter:
- The Nozzle
itself is made of Stainless Steel for durability.
- The Housing
(Test Section) is made of Clear Acrylic (transparent), which
allows students to observe the flow phenomena.
- It is
compatible with a 1 inch diameter pipe.
- Flow
Control: A Flow control valve and a by-pass valve
are fitted in the water line. This arrangement allows the experiment to be
conducted at different, controlled flow rates.
2. Water Circulation and Flow Rate Measurement
The system uses a closed-loop circulation and a volumetric
method for precise calibration.
- Water
Circulation: Provided by an FHP Pump (Crompton make).
- Sump
Tank: 55 Liters (approx.) capacity.
- Flow
Rate Measurement (Actual Flow): This is the high-accuracy
method used to calibrate the nozzle meter.
- Achieved
using a Measuring Tank (25 Liters (approx.) capacity).
- An Electronic
Stop Watch is used to measure the time taken to collect a known
volume, allowing for the calculation of the actual discharge Q actual.
- Control
Panel: Includes standard On/Off Switches and Mains Indicator.
3. Purpose and Experiments
The primary experiment is the calibration of the Nozzle
Meter. Students determine the Coefficient of Discharge Cd by
comparing the actual flow rate (measured volumetrically) with the theoretical
flow rate (calculated using the differential pressure reading, although the
manometer itself is not listed in this specific spec, it is necessary for the
experiment).
