Gear Pump Test Apparatus

Product Code : SCL-CELE-14189

Overview

The Gear Pump Test Apparatus is an advanced experimental unit designed to demonstrate the operating principle, performance characteristics, and efficiency of a rotary-type positive displacement pump. The system utilizes a closed-loop oil circuit with a variable-speed gear pump, enabling the study of key parameters such as flow rate, head, pressure, and efficiency under controlled laboratory conditions.

Gear pumps deliver continuous, pulsation-free flow by means of two counter-rotating gears that transport fluid from the intake side to the discharge side. The medium is conveyed in the tooth spaces between the gears and the pump casing, resulting in a nearly uniform flow rate that increases linearly with speed.

The trainer features a transparent pump housing that allows direct visualization of gear operation, enhancing understanding of the pump’s internal mechanics. Flow rate and head can be precisely adjusted using a needle valve and overflow valve. The oval wheel flowmeter ensures high-accuracy measurement of viscous fluid flow rates.

Equipped with a microprocessor-based measuring system and data acquisition software, the apparatus provides real-time visualization, analysis, and recording of all parameters via USB interface.
