Vortex Flow Meter Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : SCL-CELE-14145
I. Overview and Purpose
This apparatus is designed for the study of various methods used for volumetric
and mass flow measurement in fluid mechanics. The module allows students to
compare the performance of continuous and intermittent flow measurement
techniques.
II. Measurement Methods Included
The unit includes four methods for comprehensive experimentation:
- Continuous
Methods
- Vortex
Flow Meter This device generates a
series of oscillating vortices where the frequency of oscillation is
directly proportional to the flow rate. Dye or coloring is injected to
visualize these vortices.
- Variable-Area
Flow Meter (Rotameter) Used
as a continuous method, its operation is based on the flow rate lifting a
float in a tapered tube.
- Intermittent
Methods
- Volumetric
Flow Measurement
- Gravimetric
(Mass) Flow Measurement A
precision scale is used to measure the mass flow for comparison with
other methods.
III. Apparatus Description
The unit is structured for bench-top use and requires connection to an
external water supply, such as a Hydraulic Bench.
- Structure The framework consists of anodized aluminum and painted steel
panels.
- Water
Supply A PVC pipe connects the unit to the
Hydraulic Bench. Flow is controlled by a needle valve at the inlet.
- Flow
Regulation Two regulating ball valves are provided
to control the flow independently through the vortex flow meter and the
variable-area flow meter. A final control ball valve regulates the flow at
the pipe’s outlet.
- Visualization A Dye or Coloring tank (0.4 L capacity) with a control valve is
included for the visualization experiments in the vortex flow meter.
- Intermittent
Measurement Includes a constant height water tank
(2.4 L capacity), a digital precision balance (0-2000 g range, 1 g
graduation), and a graduated glass vessel (2 L capacity).
- Connections The unit utilizes a quick connection system for easy setup.
IV. List of Experiments
The apparatus supports a range of fundamental experiments in flow
measurement:
- Study
and experiments with the vortex flow meter.
- Study
and experiments with the variable-area flow meter (rotameter).
- Measurement
of volumetric flow rate.
- Measurement
of gravimetric (mass) flow rate.
- Comparison
of continuous and intermittent methods on several volumetric and mass flow
measurements.
- Flow
meter calibration for various devices.
- Comparison
among different types of flow meters.
