Pelton Wheel Turbine Test Setup Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : SCL-CELE-14103
The Pelton Wheel Turbine, named after Sir L.A. Pelton,
is the most common type of impulse water turbine in modern use. It is
characterized as a tangential flow impulse turbine where the water jet
strikes the buckets along the runner's tangent. Its operation is based on the
principle that the energy available at the turbine inlet is purely kinetic
energy, as the pressure at both the inlet and outlet remains at atmospheric
pressure. This makes the Pelton wheel ideal for applications involving high
hydraulic heads. The experimental setup is designed to study the turbine's
performance by feeding water tangentially to the runner via an SS nozzle.
The flow rate is precisely regulated using a movable SS spear controlled
by a hand wheel. A brake arrangement (dynamometer) is connected
to the runner shaft to apply load, allowing for the calculation of
mechanical output and overall efficiency.
