The experimental setup is designed to study the performance of a Jet Pump (or ejector pump), which is a fluid dynamic pump that utilizes a high-velocity motive fluid to entrain and pump a low-velocity suction fluid. The apparatus features a Mono-Block Jet Pump coupled with an electrical motor and operates on a closed loop circulation system, although the intended medium is clear water despite the conflicting mention of "oil circulation".

The total head and suction conditions are measured using Pressure and Vacuum Gauges connected to the delivery and suction sides of the pump. The actual flow rate (Discharge) is determined volumetrically using a measuring tank and an electronic stop watch. The primary goal is the determination of the pump's efficiencies and the mapping of its characteristic performance curves.
