Pitot Tube Set-Up (Hb Accessory) Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : SCL-CELE-14029
This equipment is designed to demonstrate the use of a Pitot
tube to measure the local velocity at various points within a
flowing fluid stream, based on the principle of converting kinetic energy to pressure
energy.
1. Key Components and Design
The apparatus consists of a clear test section for flow
visualization, a precise measuring instrument, and a manometer.
- Test
Section: The section through which the fluid flows.
- Material: Clear
Acrylic (transparent), compatible with a 1 inch Diameter Pipe.
- Flow
Control: A flow control valve is fitted to regulate the
flow rate.
- Pitot
Tube: The primary sensing element used to measure local
velocity.
- Material: Copper/Stainless
Steel (SS) of a standard, compatible design.
- Function: It
measures the stagnation pressure (total pressure) at the point
where its opening faces the flow.
- Position
Measurement:
- A Vernier
scale is attached to the Pitot tube.
- The Hook/Pointer
Gauge allows the operator to precisely measure and position the Pitot
tube across the diameter of the transparent pipe section.
- Pressure
Measurement: An U-tube manometer is provided to
measure the velocity head (the difference between stagnation
pressure and static pressure).
2. Experimental Purpose
The primary goal is the application of the Pitot tube
principle and flow analysis.
- Velocity
Measurement: Determine the local velocity of the fluid
at various radial positions across the pipe's cross-section using the
measured velocity head.
- Velocity
Profile: Plot the velocity profile (variation of local
velocity with radius) across the pipe diameter for different flow rates.
- Coefficient
Verification: Determine the coefficient of the Pitot tube
by comparing the integrated flow rate (from the velocity profile) with an
independently measured flow rate (if connected to a Hydraulic Bench).
