Centrifugal Pump Demonstration (Hb Accessory) Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : SCL-CELE-14032
This equipment is a self-contained, closed-circuit unit
designed to study the performance of a Centrifugal Pump. The setup
allows for the measurement of key performance parameters like flow rate, head,
power input, and efficiency under varying pump speeds (RPM).
1. Key Components and Design
The test rig uses a DC motor and a variable drive to
precisely control the pump's rotational speed.
- Pump:
- Make
& Capacity: Kirloskar Make, 1 HP.
- Performance:
Maximum Speed 2800 RPM, Maximum Head 12 m.
- Medium:
Designed for Clear Water.
- Drive
System:
- Motor: 1
HP DC Motor.
- Speed
Control: Uses a Thyristor controlled DC Drive to vary
the RPM of the motor, which allows for testing the pump across its
operating curve.
- Water
Circulation: The system operates on a closed circuit basis,
recycling water from the Sump Tank (Capacity 110 Liters).
2. Measurement Instrumentation
Accurate measurement of flow, head, and power is essential
for performance analysis.
- Flow
Measurement: Achieved volumetrically using a Measuring
Tank (Capacity 70 Liters) with a Piezometer and an Electronic
Stop Watch.
- Head
Measurement (Pressure): Uses a Bourdon type
Pressure Gauge to measure the discharge pressure (required to
calculate the total head developed by the pump).
- Power
Input Measurement: Power input to the DC motor is measured (implied
via the Thyristor controlled DC Drive) to determine the efficiency.
3. Purpose and Experiments
The primary goal is the determination and plotting of the
pump's characteristic curves.
- Characteristic
Curves: Determine and plot the relationship between Head
H, Discharge Q, and Efficiency eta at constant and variable
pump speeds.
- Efficiency
Determination: Calculate the overall efficiency of the
pump by comparing the water power output (calculated from Q and H to the
electrical power input.
- Affinity
Laws: Verify the Affinity Laws which govern the
relationship between speed, head, flow rate, and power in rotodynamic
machines.
