Metacentric Height Apparatus Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : SCL-CELE-14120
This experimental apparatus is
designed for the empirical study of ship stability and the verification
of key hydrostatic principles using a floating pontoon model. The
setup allows for the precise determination of the metacentric height (GM),
a critical parameter that dictates the transverse stability of a floating
vessel.
The stability analysis is performed
by inducing a controlled angle of heel (tilt): A movable weight
is displaced across a horizontal bar, creating a known external moment. The
resultant angle of tilt is accurately measured using a pendulum attached
to the model, which indicates the angle on a graduated arc. The
apparatus permits the modification of the pontoon's weight and center of
gravity using removable steel strips and supplied weights.
