Hydstatic Force/Center of Pressure Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : SCL-CELE-14119
This
apparatus is designed to demonstrate the principles of hydrostatics by
enabling students to measure the net hydrostatic force and locate the center
of pressure on a submerged plane surface. This understanding is
foundational for designing structures like dams, ships, and maritime
structures.
The core
element is a quadrant immersed in a Perspex water tank. The
quadrant is fixed to a balance arm which pivots at a knife edge on its
centerline. The setup ensures that only the force acting on the vertical
rectangular end face of the quadrant produces a measurable moment about the
pivot axis. The total hydrostatic force and the center of pressure are
determined by balancing this moment using a balance pan, adjustable
counterbalance, and a set of standard weights. Experiments can be conducted
for both partially and fully submerged conditions by varying the water level.
