Free And Force Vortex Apparatus Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : SCL-CELE-14099
This experimental setup is designed for the comparative study
of free vortices (irrotational flow) and forced vortices
(rotational flow), two fundamental flow patterns in fluid dynamics. The
apparatus uses a clear circular transparent cylindrical tank to allow
visual observation of the resulting free surface profiles. A free vortex
is generated by introducing water via circumferential jets located near
the bottom of the cylinder, with an outlet orifice at the center, which
can be modified using a reducing bush. A forced vortex is created by
physically rotating the cylinder about its vertical axis using an FHP
variable speed motor connected via a V-belt. The experimental procedure
involves achieving steady-state conditions and measuring the surface profile
coordinates, which directly represent the variation of the piezometric head
(sum of pressure and datum head).
