Flow Over Weir or Open Channel Apparatus Manufacturer,Supplier and Exporter in India
Product Code : SCL-CELE-14102
A weir is a fundamental concrete or masonry structure
built across an open channel or river to raise the upstream water level and
allow excess flow over its crest to the downstream side. Weirs are also
extensively used as devices for measuring the rate of flow of water in
streams and irrigation channels. This experimental unit is designed to study
the hydraulic characteristics and facilitate the calibration of various weir
types. The apparatus utilizes a centrifugal pump to circulate water from
a sump tank into a flow channel where the interchangeable weir is
fitted at the end. Water flowing over the weir is collected and directed into a
measuring tank or passed through a calibrated flow meter to
determine the discharge, which is essential for calculating the Coefficient
of Discharge (Cd).
