Fluids Specific Gravity & Density Apparatus

Product Code : SCL-CELE-14204

The Specific Test Apparatus is designed to determine the density, specific gravity, and viscosity of various liquids such as water, oils, and other fluids of known or unknown composition.
The complete set includes three essential components — Pycnometer Bottle, Liquid Density Apparatus (Hydrometer Set), and Viscosity Apparatus — which together enable accurate measurement of liquid properties for laboratory experiments, educational demonstrations, and research applications in Fluid Mechanics, Chemical Engineering, and Material Science.

1. Pycnometer Bottle Setup

Description

The Pycnometer is a precision glass instrument used for the determination of liquid density and specific gravity by displacement method. It is suitable for accurate measurement of small liquid volumes and is accompanied by a precision electronic balance for mass determination.

3. Viscosity Apparatus

Description

The Viscosity Apparatus is designed to determine the kinematic viscosity of liquids by capillary flow method. The instrument consists of a fine-bore capillary tube mounted on a wooden board, connected through rubber tubing to a U-tube manometer. The setup allows precise measurement of pressure difference and steady liquid flow through the capillary.

A constant level brass tank ensures a uniform head of liquid during tests, while the unit conforms to international standards for viscometry.
